Purple Mattress Review
Are you interested in the Purple Mattress brand but have no idea where to start? Then, you are on the right page. Hey, how's it going? We have an entire overview of the Purple Mattress brand recently after they've updated a good chunk of their mattress lineup. We're going to go through all three of their mattress collections. They have the Essential Collection, the Premium Collection, and the Luxe Collection. There are three mattresses in each one, not counting the Purple Kids Mattress.

We're not going to talk about that one. There will be a lot of information below in the description about all the mattresses from Purple, including any discounts we can find to help bring these prices down for you. If you find this review helpful or exciting, please share it with friends. We'd appreciate that. You shouldn't pay anything extra for shipping, no matter which mattress you choose. Like many other mattress brands, many of these will arrive in a large bag instead of a box. The difference is pretty negligible.
The process is virtually the same. Hey, the bag might be helpful for something if you decide to keep it. Other mattresses will arrive via white glove delivery, which means they will arrive full-size, and a local delivery team will come in and set up the mattress for you.
You don't have to do any heavy lifting. They will often take away your old mattress if you want them to. That will be for the more high-end Purple mattresses, which we'll discuss later. You should have a 100-night trial period with all of them as well.
If you don't like them within the trial period, you can return them for free, and they all come with a standard 10-year warranty. So that's all the policy stuff. This is a basic overview. We will start with Purple's most affordable Essential Collection and work our way up.
Purple Essential Collection
So, the Essential Collection is what you would expect. It is the most baseline mattress from Purple. What you will get with all these mattresses from Purple is their proprietary gel flex grid. This material is what makes a Purple mattress a Purple mattress.
And it is pretty unique to Purple. You will not find any other mattress brand that uses a similar material, at least not that we have heard of. So this resembles Dr. Scholl's insole, just the size of an entire mattress. This squishy, stretchy, and responsive material gives these mattresses from Purple a unique gel-like feel. We think you'll feel buoyant on top of the mattress, especially if you're sleeping on your back or stomach. But then, if you switch to your side, it somewhat conforms to your body shape. And if you decide to rotate between sleep positions, maybe you're a combo sleeper; it is pretty much effortless. It's hard to describe the feel of a Purple mattress because it's so unlike anything you've probably tried before. Most people who try out a Purple mattress react highly to it. They think it's incredible and super comfortable or a little too different for them. Most people get used to the feel of a purple mattress within the trial period. So make sure you use that if you decide to buy one.
So, starting in the Essential Collection, you have the Purple New Day mattress, their most basic mattress. It's about six inches of dense support foam with a two-inch layer of that gel-flex grid on top. We haven't actually gotten the opportunity to test this mattress hands-on because Purple hasn't sent it our way.
We describe this mattress as feeling firm, the most basic purple mattresses. You're not looking at spending a lot more to get the Purple Mattress original, which is probably the one we recommend most in the Essential Collection. The difference between this mattress and the New Day mattress is that it features another layer of transition foam, and transition foams are pretty standard in these mattress designs. It's there to ensure you don't feel the super dense, harsh support foam underneath or coils if it's a hybrid mattress, and it just makes the mattress feel slightly more balanced. On the purple original, you get that nice, unique feel from the gel flex grid, and the mattress will be a little bit softer.
We have it at a medium and arc firm scale, which means it should be very accommodating for all sleeper types: back, stomach, side, and combination. This mattress is pretty affordable, although purple as a brand is a bit more expensive than a lot of other competing brands like Casper or Lisa, and the MSRP for queen-sized purple originals is around $1,400, which is a bit more expensive than, say the flagship Lisa mattress and the flagship Casper mattress so keep that in mind. Right now, though, it is on discount. You can pick it up for around $1,200, which is not much more expensive than the New Day mattress. But if you are more of a side sleeper looking for a noticeably soft mattress, that is where the last mattress in the Essential Collection, the Purple Plus Mattress, comes in. It is very similar to the purple original, only it features a bit more comfort foam and softens up the mattress quite a bit.
We have it at close to a medium soft and arc firm scale, maybe a hair more delicate than that, which is a nice sweet spot for side sleepers looking for a lot of pressure relief for their hips and shoulders. Because the Purple Plus features a little more comfort foam, We think you might feel a little less of that gel-flex greater comparison to the other two, but you're still getting that lovely purple thing that you probably want if you're interested in purple as a brand. The only big sticking point for me with the Purple Plus is pricing. The MSRP for this thing is around $1,900, which is pretty expensive for a non-hybrid mattress and isn't much more affordable than the first mattress in the Purple Restore Collection, which is the Purple Restore. The most significant difference between all three mattresses in the Purple Restore Collection and the Purple Essential Collection is that all these mattresses feature coils for support instead of foam. There are some pros and cons to foam versus waves. We think locks are superior in most ways. If you're an extremely light sleeper who wakes up many of your partner's tosses and turns, a foam mattress will better isolate motion. But modern pocketed coils do a solid job, and We don't see it being a deal breaker for pocketed coils and a bit more bounce to the mattress, which some people like and some don't. So, on the Restore, you have those coils, a layer of transition foam, and then that two-inch layer of the gel-flex grid that you find on the New Day, the Purple Original, and the Purple Plus.
Purple Restore Hybrid Collection
So you still get that nice gel-like feel you'd expect from Purple on the Restore mattress, and this mattress comes in two different firmness options. It comes in a firm and a soft. Now, we've only tested the firm model so far. Our testing found it to be at a medium firm, which is an excellent option for back stomach and sure combination sleepers. We would wager based on what Purple says on their website and the thermos we've tested on the other mattresses in this collection.
This model will be closer to a medium to be a bit more accommodating for side sleepers. And when it comes to price, you're looking at about $2,300 for a queen, which is, again, not that much more than the Purple Plus, and We think the Restore is maybe just a bit better unless you are seeking out a side sleeper mattress. And once you factor in discounts, it comes in closer to $2,000, which makes it a pretty solid value. After the Purple Restore, you have the Purple Restore Plus, and there are two critical differences between this mattress and the Restore. Number one is that the coil system is in a zone support configuration. This means the center third of the mattress will be slightly firmer, and you will have a somewhat softer coil system on the outer thirds. This is here to give you more support in the center third of your body, where you need it the most, and a little more pressure relief for your shoulders. We think having a zone support system is excellent. It's much more sophisticated than other brands we've tested, like the higher-end mattresses from Casper. But We believe zone support is always a nice thing to have. It's super subtle. You might feel it when you first start sleeping on the mattress, but overall, We think it's just there to help keep your spine in a more neutral alignment while you sleep. The other big difference is that you're getting three inches instead of two inches of gel flex grid material. This extra inch of gel flex grid makes the mattress a bit softer, and We think it intensifies that purple feel, which We believe many people out there will probably enjoy. We slept on the old version of this mattress, the Purple Hybrid Premier 3-inch, for many years and were huge fans. And then, you have the Purple Restore Premier last in the premium collection. And they did something a little bit interesting in the design of this mattress. Instead of having a flat foam transition layer, the coils on this mattress are foam-tipped, which is pretty interesting. I'm not exactly sure why they decided to go this design route. We think it does make the mattress a little bit softer. This is the softest mattress in the premium collection. The soft model we tested is very quiet. They're on a medium soft. We think this is also designed to improve the airflow even more. All the mattresses from Purple do an excellent job of sleeping temperature neutral, thanks to that sort of waffle design from the gel flex grid. This mattress might have slightly better airflow than the other two mattresses, but We don't think it's that noticeable. And we did have a little bit of a gripe with this mattress because the outer edges are extra reinforced with coils and foam. The soft model felt like you were almost pushed toward the middle of the mattress, which might not be a problem. We discussed it in more detail in our full video review of the Restore Premier, so be sure to check that out.
Purple Rejuvenate Luxe Collection
If you're looking for a Purple mattress that's exceptionally soft for side sleepers, this one is a solid option in the soft model. And then that brings us to the three mattresses in the Purple Rejuvenate Luxe collection. You have the Purple Rejuvenate, the Rejuvenate Plus, and the Rejuvenate Premier. Now, right off the bat, once We list these prices, they will probably be kind of out of the question for many people because We don't think many people will want to spend this much money on a new mattress. The most affordable one, the Purple Rejuvenate, will cost you around $5,500 for a queen, and they only get more expensive from there, making these some of the most costly mattresses we've ever tested. So, for many of you, that's a pretty big bummer. But we have good news to report for those of you who have that much money to spend on a mattress. These are all pretty.
The most significant difference between the Rejuvenate Luxe Collection and the other two is that instead of sleeping right on top of that gel flex grid material, giving you that unique purple feel, on the Rejuvenate Mattresses, you have a layer of comfort foam that goes above the gel flex grid. They wind up feeling a bit more like a responsive pillow top that We think will be more generally accommodating for more sleepers. We think you'll find it comfortable, although it does have less of that unique quality you might be looking for from purple. All three of these mattresses have a similar zone support structure, and they all feature a pretty thick layer of that gel flex grid material lower in the mattress.
The Purple Rejuvenate Premier features multiple layers of the gel flex grid and is ultra comfortable. We tested an older version of this mattress under a different branding and thought it was one of the most comfortable mattresses we've ever tested. The most significant difference between the individual mattresses in the Luxe Collection will be firmness. The Purple Rejuvenate Mattress, the baseline model, is around medium firm, so it is an excellent option for back, stomach, and combo sleepers. The Purple Rejuvenate Plus is significantly softer around a flat medium, so it is more accommodating for all sleeper types, and the Rejuvenate Premier will be right in the middle between a medium firm and a medium firm. Of course, the price will vary between these mattresses, but they're already so expensive.
We don't know how much that price difference will matter to you at the end of the day. That is all nine mattresses from the Purple Mattress lineup. We know that was a lot to cover, but you might be wondering which one of these mattresses we should go with. We think that will depend on your budget and whether or not you want coils. If you have a bit more money to spend on your next mattress and you like having a hybrid, We recommend looking at the Purple Restore or the Purple Restore Plus. You're going to be getting that excellent purple material, you're going to be laying around on top of it, and you get the extra durability and support and bounce of the coils. We think the Restore Plus with that extra inch of the gel flex grid will give you the most of the purple feel you're probably looking for. If you have a smaller budget but still want a Purple Mattress, we think the Purple Original is the way to go. It's their most popular mattress because it's affordable, ultra-comfortable, and accommodating with its medium firmness. If you have a ton of money to spend, We could see looking at the Purple Rejuvenate Mattresses. For most people, the Essential and Premium Collection mattresses will probably be your best bet. Let us know what you think. Write us down below in the comments section.

Purple Restore Mattress Review
Purple explicitly designed the Purple Restore Mattress to provide an exceptional sleep journey using leading technology and high-grade materials. This particular model features what can be described as the unique Purple Grid – a patented configuration that consists of high elastic polymer material arranged in an intersecting grid form. Its revolutionary design conforms to your body’s shape, offering personalized pressure management and support. Secondly, the grid design enhances superior air circulation, resulting in a fresh and pleasant environment for sleeping at nighttime.
The Purple Restore mattress is made up of four layers. A supportive foam base allows for an even distribution of weight and minimizes excessive sinking to the bottom of the bed, making it so the sleeper ends up on top. The base is durable, and beneath the foam layer, it provides strength, ensuring the mattress's durability and stability. Also, the fabric cover is breathable and stretchy, which helps improve air circulation, thereby regulating the body temperatures and offering a fantastic night’s sleep. It is also tailored with motion isolation characteristics that help reduce the spread of movement and, thus, peaceful sleep.
The Purple Restore mattress comes in Medium, Soft, and Firm, providing comfort options suitable for each need. In addition to the standard Purple Restore Mattress, there are two premium variants: Purple Restore Plus vs. Purple Restore Premier. With each unit offering additional support and a more comfortable design, Purple Restore Plus has added “individually Wrapped Responsive Support Coils.” The other coils provide more bounce and give than is usually desired in such beds. In contrast, Purple Restore Premier raises the bar for luxury and comfort by integrating Purple Grid technology with a core of responsive support coils and another one of responsive support foam. Combining these unique qualities gives superior support, pressure relief, and luxurious sleep required for maximum comfort and support.

Purple Rejuvenate Mattress Review
The Purple Rejuvenate™ mattress comes with a Quilted comfort cover, which features the classic Euro top cushioning, contouring, and support for the body through the GelFlex® Grid Plus technology, enabling you to transition into the deep sleep mode smoothly. Moreover, a three-zone coil provides firm support in particular areas.
The purple rejuvenate mattress construction is crafted for coolness, edge support, comfort, and pressure relief. However, it is essential to note that the experiences may differ depending on one’s sleep requirements and preferences. It enables you to adjust your mattress to match your preferred level of comfort and support.
Key Features:
- GelFlex® Grid Plus Technology: The Purple Rejuvenate mattress features a 2.5” GelFlex® Grid Plus layer. These proprietary materials adaptively load and unload pressure points. Under pressure, it bends in places while propping others and relieving strain from vulnerable zones, thus helping maintain normal spine positioning.
- Dual-Layer Comfort Foam: The dual-layer comfort foam of this mattress contributes significantly to overall comfort and cushioning. It gives a smooth touch and makes outlines on your body for a perfect sleeping mood.
- Edge Support Foam and Support System: The Purple Rejuvenate mattress comes with edge support foam and a solid edge support system, making this area stable and reliable. This guarantees continuous assistance and diminishes the sensation of a fall-off when lying close to the sides.
- 3 Zone Responsive Coil System: This is achieved by incorporating three sections or zones of the responsive coil system, which targets diverse body parts. This system is designed for maximal spine alignment, minimal motion transition, greater comfort, and a better sleeping environment.
- Quilted Comfort Cover with Antimicrobial + Cooling Finish: The cover of the Purple Rejuvenate features a quilt for added comfort. This mattress has an antibacterial finish that makes it always fresh and clean. Additionally, the cooling finish manages temperature, ensuring an excellent sleep surface.
- Pressure Relief: The Purple Grid™ equally distributes pressure by hugging the body and diminishing contact points. The Purple Rejuvenate mattress eases pain by decreasing the load borne by the hips and the shoulders, enhancing comfort and sleep quality. In this regard, it has been designed especially for side sleepers suffering from neck or back pain.
- Motion Isolation: The gel grid of the Purple Rejuvenate mattress captures motions and suppresses motion transfer disturbance caused by one’s bedmate. This also comes in handy for people who like sleeping lightly, especially those who share the same beds.
- Durable and Long-lasting: The Purple Rejuvenate mattress is purposely engineered out of quality materials such as the Purple Grid™, which makes it very hard to wear and durable. It guarantees long-term, dependable work.
Medium-Firm Support: Purple Rejuvenate is a medium-firm mattress with a rating of between 6.5 and 7 on a scale 10. A perfect mix of support and comfort is ideal for back and combined sleepers. Furthermore, the cushion effect makes sleeping more comfortable, with its soft surface attractive for people seeking a more peaceful feeling. The combination of support and responsiveness provided by the Purple Luxe Rejuvenate mattress is beneficial to combination sleepers who move from one position to another without putting any strain on their bodies while maintaining proper alignment or any discomfort while they sleep on it.

Purple Rejuvenate Plus Mattress Review
The Purple Rejuvenate Plus mattress builds upon the features of the standard Rejuvenate Mattress and offers the following additional benefits:
- Enhanced Thickness: The Purple Rejuvenate Plus is thicker, giving it extra support and enhancing comfort. The mattress measures 16.5 inches in height, thus providing a solid sleeping surface.
- Added Transition Layer: Adding a transition layer between the Purple Grid™ and the base layer makes the Rejuvenate Plus. The second layer offers more significant and refined support to the contours by deepening compression, thus improving this element and sleep.
- Plush Comfort: The Rejuvenate Plus is described as one of the plushiest sleep surfaces. This is ideal for people who like their mattresses to be less firm as they sleep.
Medium-Soft Firmness: Purple Rejuvenate Plus is rated as an average mattress with a firmness level of approximately 5.5 on a scale from 1 to 10. It is medium soft and, therefore, suits many people with different sleeping styles and builds with the required comfort and supportiveness.
Unlike other firms with standard firmness measures, Purple provides Purple’s unique Purple® Grid Technology to enable an individual or person to experience a responsive and accommodating structure. The purple grid is a hyper-elastic polymer that strikes a balance for support and relieves pressure. In pressure points, it flexes but remains supportive, thus ensuring a straight alignment of the spine. Therefore, the changing characteristics of the Purple Grid tend to produce a "medium firm" bed.

Purple Rejuvenate Premier Mattress Review
The Purple Rejuvenate Premier takes the features of the Rejuvenate Plus to new heights, offering additional luxury and customization options:
- Enhanced Thickness and Layers: This is the thickest mattress in the premium line that gives a significant sleep surface. With additional layers for maximum comfort and support, your sleep will be luxurious!
- Customizable Firmness: The Rejuvenate Premier comes in three different degrees of firmness, which include soft, medium, and firm. You can then pick a degree of hardness depending on your individual preference.
- Advanced Pressure Relief: The Rejuvenate Premier provides much better pressure relief than a regular mattress due to its added layers and being user-adjustable to match your sleep comfort level. The bed is in perfect shape, adjusting its sides precisely to fit into every bend and curve within your body, offering targeted support exactly where your body needs it.
Medium-Firm Support: As for its firmness, the Purple Rejuvenate premier scores at a six or seven, which places it on the firmer side of the scale. It has medium firmness, best suited for sleepers who want little give and lots of stability on their bed.
A firm mattress may be essential for people who need more support, such as those with back or joint pain and those mostly sleeping on their back or stomach. By providing training and education, companies can encourage their workers to understand better what is expected of them. The hard surface supports healthy posture, avoiding sinking and overproportional sinking, and provides comfortable rest.
